Bristol Piano Club is starting a new type of event – the piano workshop. Up to six members (including the host) meet for a couple of hours of serious playing, listening and discussion. The intention is to provide a measure of critical feedback from within the group that is deliberately absent from the normal meetings where the emphasis is on sharing music, learning to overcome performance nerves and fellowship over a meal and glass or two. So the workshops will fill a gap between our masterclasses, which are run by a professional pianist, and the monthly meeting. We plan to run the workshops in the home of a Club member and with a frequency of roughly every two months. The first will take place on the evening of May 15th at Simon and Jill’s, 7 – 9 pm. Information on further workshops will be given on this page and also by e-mail announcement to all Club members. Contact Simon if you have questions.
