Christmas Party

We held a very successful Christmas party at Jan Moody’s house last Sunday which was enjoyed by all.

Entertainment was provided by members who took turns in showing  us their hidden talents!   Altogether, the party was a wonderful  afternoon of music, games, fun, food  and friendship.

Out thanks go to Jan and Jonathan for hosting the party and to Kirsty for working so hard behind the scenes to make everything run so smoothly.

A special guest was Dr. Alton Chung Ming Chan -International Concert Pianist, pedagogue, conductor, author and recording artist  who we were delighted to have with us. Alton thoroughly enjoyed coming to the party, meeting members of Bristol Piano Group and hearing us play.

Booking opened on Monday 11th Jan for the January ‘Plan and Play’ meeting, also at Jan’s on Saturday 20th January at 15.00hrs. – Please send your ideas for the meeting agenda  and forward your name if you would like to come along.

Please can everyone tell me what they would like to bring to meetings food and drink wise at the time of booking as this makes the admin. easier.

Nathaniel Mander November Spinet Concerts

Nathaniel Mander -November Concerts

Nathaniel has just returned from Tetbury for the inaugural recital of his newly commissioned spinet after the Goujon 1753 original.
Although Andrew Garlick has got it well underway there is still work to do to finish it including its lavish stand with 6 cabriole legs and landscape lid painting. If anyone is interested in contributing to the spinet fund to sponsor the instrument’s completion, do get in touch with Nathaniel.

November ConcertsSaturday 4th November, 7pm
33 Hampstead Lane, N6 4RTNathaniel Mander – Baroque Spinet 4th will see the first London ‘outing’ of the new spinet, made by master instrument maker, Andrew Garlick and modelled on a spinet built by the supreme craftsman Jean-Claude Goujon around 1753 which now lives in the Musée Instrumental in Paris.
Nathaniel will perform a very personal programme of keyboard works ideally suited to the domestic intimacy of the spinet and its exquisite sound world. The concert will be followed by an early 18th century supper which might well have been enjoyed by any of our composers – or indeed by M. Goujon the spinet maker!
Only a very few tickets remaining so snap them up quickly!
