Meet Simon Scott

Simon Scott has been playing pianos for many years, graduating from an Edwardian upright in childhood, via Steinways at University, a Blüthner upright, a Yamaha C5 grand to, finally, a Bӧsendorfer 225 grand (beyond which, he feels, it is impossible to progress).

Simon completed grade 8 piano and theory some decades ago and is now planning a performance diploma exam. His favourite piano composers are probably Fauré, Chopin and Billy Mayerl. In the recent past he has tried his hand at composing and his September Tango duet and Loch Reverie have been performed at both the piano club and the Bristol Music Club.

Membership of the Piano Club has proved a real boon, providing opportunities to play in front of a friendly audience as well as making friends and discussing music, teachers, tuners, instruments and dealers.

Meeting on 19th March 23.

We all thoroughly enjoyed the meeting at Kay’s house in March, with a choice of two pianos and a wonderful selection of music played by our members.

Thank you very much to Kay for hosting the meeting and for everyone’s musical and culinary contributions.

Our next meeting will be held at the home of Chris in Saltford.

Best wishes to all.

Leonora.
