In an era where superlatives can appear increasingly devalued, Richard Goode is a genuine piano legend. The New York Times writes: “It is virtually impossible to walk away from one of Mr Goode’s recitals without the sense of having gained some new insight, subtle or otherwise, into the works he played or about pianism itself.” This summer marked his 80th birthday and this is a unique opportunity for most of us to hear one of the world’s’ greatest musicians up close.
